Mrs. Young and I are too smart (nerd day) and too cool (shades) for DRUGS!!!

Caleb was one of my former kindergarteners and he's still just as smart as ever!!

LIBRARY CAN BE FUN!

Here are a couple of new Stations I put out this week. The children are practicing with Call Numbers. They are so excited when they know where to find the books! A few are a little timid until I go along with them and show them how easy it is.

I am so proud to see the students who actually go to the computer and search for books and find them on the shelf!

"The Shelver" game helps them put books in order by Call Numbers. You can find this at www.mrs-lodges-library.com

Here the students look for books on the shelf in our library by using the Call Numbers. When they find the book, the write the author's name.

Alabama Library Expo

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to author, Faye Gibbons, last Thursday. She made me laugh so much with her life stories that my face hurt!

I also enjoyed seeing my friend and fellow Librarian, Kassie Millwood, receive the Herman Moore LAMP Award of Exceptional Service! She definitely deserves it!!

Transformation Complete!

The students were so excited to see all the changes in the library! They kept saying they loved all the colors and that it felt happy!! Makes me smile! It was so much fun seeing their faces when they realized I was now their new Librarian! My favorite part was watching their faces light up as I read THE LIBRARY DRAGON and shared a character doll from the story. Third and Fourth graders still love to be read to and have story props! I received so many hugs this week and many who said they can't wait to come back next week! YAY!

Thank you Jordan Smith for helping me with all the words on your cricut for the circulation desk! They look Awesome!! Thank you Mrs. Young for climbing the ladder to hang all those paper lanterns! The AES/APS Library is ready for 2015-2016 Students!
